- 98% minority population - mostly Latino children from San Antonio's inner city
- 86% of KIPP San Antonio's students are economically disadvantaged

- On average, our students are enrolling into our middle school about 2-3 grade levels behind in reading and math
Results
After four years at KIPP Aspire Academy, our first cohort of students' gains on the national Stanford-10 test were among the highest in the country.
- 27th to 65th percentile in reading (students doubled their reading scores)
- 35th to 90th percentile in math (students are scoring in the top 10% of the country)
KIPP Aspire Academy has been ranked at one of the top public middle schools in San Antonio by the Texas Education Agency for its performance on the statewide TAKS test.
The SAT scores of our 7th graders were commensurate with those of the local high school seniors; 1/3 of our 7th graders qualified for the Duke Talent Identification Program (TIP).
KIPP Aspire Academy was awarded the Texas Educator Excellence Grant (TEEG) for achievement with "educationally disadavantaged" students and an Exemplar grant from the Texas High School Project for our model math program.
KIPP Aspire Academy has maintained a 96-97% attendance rate, one of the highest in San Antonio.
KIPP Aspire Academy was recently named one of "The Best Public Schools" in Texas by the National Center for Educational Accountability.
