This year Melva Pérez will be teaching Composition and Journalism at KIPP University Prep High School. Prior to joining the KIPP family, Melva was a member of Teach For America (TFA) in Houston, TX. TFA is a highly selective national service corps of recent college graduates who commit two years to teach in under-resourced public schools. While in Houston, Melva taught 9th grade English as a Second Language.  Melva earned the Bachelor of Arts degree from Trinity University (San Antonio, TX) in English and History, May, 2007.
